making the TexShop editor behave like i want it to

Post by hcaswell »

OK, this might seem like a stupid question, but I can't find any information on it.

I would like to have some control over what happens when I do File-Open. It opens a finder-like window, but I don't seem to have any options about how that window is configured. I would like to organize it in the same way that Finder is organized, but it doesn't seem to respond to changes like that. I would like files to be sorted by type.

I would also like to easily be able to see only .tex files, instead of seeing this huge list of all the files that might be in the folder that's open. (The combination of WinEdt and MikTeX did this nicely, for what that's worth).

Suggestions?

Thanks
Hal

Try typing .tex in the spotlight search area of the display window. It's a small thing you have to do but it gets you results.

I feel you though that I wish it did this by default. Small price to pay for a great LaTeX editor though.
