TexnicCenter: Bulid-Information missing

Post by fallacy »

Hi,

i have some problems with TexnicCenter. Somehow, i accidently disabled the build information window and don´t know how to enable it again. I already reinstalled TexnicCenter, but the preferences seem not to be deleted properly, the build-information-window is still missing (See attached image). The options "Build Output" and "Compilation Results" are enabled, but don´t seem to have any effect in my configuration.

Would be great, if someone could help me to get the build-information back.

PS: I´m using TexnicCenter 2.0 Alpha 3 (build 1118).

Disable and enable them anew and see what happens.

Thanks for your fast response, but the problem still remains if i check and uncheck the both options ("Build Output","Compilation Results").

I really do not intend to sound like a wise-ass, but it's worth a try: You could (should) install the latest RC version, "1.0 Stable RC 1". :) After all, it's your Studienarbeit and that could lead to somedifficulties when relying on software still in alpha state.

That's a very bad answer!!

Anyway, I solved the problem and this is what has happened:
The Compilation Results windows is open although invisible... you (or perhaps the TexnicCenter) has accidentially set the sub window height to 0. Point the mouse to the bottom of the program, just below the main text field. The pointer will alter to a vertical drag-pointer. Hold the mouse button and pull your pressious compilation info back up :-)
This is where your compilation results hide

I struggled with this problem for two days. Here is what worked for me.
Change from two monitors to a single monitor. The build page appears as Floating (undocked).
Put the mouse on this page and right click. You will see "Floating" and "Docking".
Choose Docking if that is what you like. Also if build pane is not where you want it, say it is on the left side but you want it at the bottom, you can drag it to the bottom (after Docking it).
Now go back to your two monitor setting.
Hope it helps.
