BibTeX and TeXnicCenter

Post by Bozack »

This is kind of a newbie question, but I'm trying to learn how to use BibTeX, and I'm using TeXnicCenter. It seemed so easy to make those two work together, but I simply can't make my MikTeX compiler to understand that it has to make a .bbl file.

I've made a .bib file with two entries - 100 % copied from a tutorial, as so is the .tex file with citations from this .bib file. But when I run compile in TeXnicCenter the only thing happening is normal compiling, making of an empty .bbl file and empty references for the citations - doesn't matter how many times I try to compile...

Any good ideas for what's wrong? :(

Did you uncheck the "Do not use Bibtex in this profile" option in your output profile? Did you set the right path for Bibtex?

Yes I have the checkbox unchecked and given the right path for BibTeX, unfortunately :P It's not that easy I guess...

In the Project -> Properties menu, do you have "Uses BibTex" checked? ;) Caused me NO end of hassle till I found that ...
