Using XeTeX I've loaded certain special Windows fonts (OpenType and TrueType) but discovered that some of them aren't available in Bold, Italic etc.
Whilst this is not a problem for other Windows applications (Word, Photoshop) XeTeX seems to look for the separate font files, in the absence of which is there any way that I can fake italic?
Thanks

It would be helpful to know which fonts you are having issues with. For the problem in hand, try the fontspec package (which your really should use with XeLaTeX) and study the FakeSlant option.

Thanks Joseph... FakeSlant works a treat on this old (1996) font called Legend (similar to Caliph and Legende).
