Unknown archive file type

Post by barnie »

Hi,

trying to install the package Koma-Script I always get the error message: "Unknown archive file type."

I tried several different repositories but it's always the same. Anyone any idea what the problem could be? I mean, since it is packed for MikTeX, MikTeX should be able to manage the archive, shouldn't it?

Upgrade to MiKTeX 2.6 or take a look at the issues page of your MiKTeX System. Note that MiKTeX 2.5 is considered outdated.

I am trying to install ieeetrans I am using MiKTeX Package manager 2.6.2651

I get the "Unknown archive file type" issue when installing from a FTP repository.

I get a "The remote package may be corrupted" error when installing from a HTTP repository.

I get a crash and burn core dump about 1 in 5 changes for repository.

I tried to download the lmza file and install from local, but it did not like that either.

I installed MiKTeX as part of a LyX windows 1.5.4 install (very recent).

Any ideas?
