LEd version 0.50 beta is released. http://www.latexeditor.org/index.html
LEd (LaTeX Editor) is a free environment for rapid TeX/LaTeX document processing. Our main goal in developing the editor is to make the process of TeX/LaTeX document production easier thanks to the integration of the most helpful tools into one application.
LEd can be used with any TeX distribution, however its full functionality is available with a distribution based on TeXLive or MiKTeX. LEd has been tested to work correctly with:
TeXLive 6,
TeXLive 7,
TeXLive 2003,
TeXLive 2004,
TeXLive 2005,
MiKTeX 2.4,
MiKTeX 2.5.

LEd version 0.50 beta is released
The LeD webpage (http://www.latexeditor.org/news.html) says
I wonder, what the new feature "tracking changes in edited document" means.
When I edit a document, LeD only shows marks on the left of the document, which mean that the line has changed.
I cannot find a "track changes" feature like in LyX or Word, which I consider as a killer feature since it would make group work much more easier.

Sebastian

Re: LEd version 0.50 beta is released
If that line has been changed, there will be a color bar next to the line number.. however, when you save it and reopen it, it won't be there.

Re: LEd version 0.50 beta is released
I wanted to use it with MikTeX 2.4 and it always closed itself when using the following functions:
* Open a .tex-document
* Save a .tex-document
That makes it difficult to work with that program. Can you help me? What's the reason for this? My operating System is Win XP.
Thx

Re: LEd version 0.50 beta is released
Hi emes,
MikTeX Version 2.4 is quite old, that's why I recommend to update to a newer version like 2.7, perhaps the LEd is working then.
With 2.4 you might encounter more problems for instance with its package manager and packages in lzma format.
Another idea: try disabling the dvi viewer, I 've heard LEd may crash with dvi viewer activated with MiKTeX 2.6 or below.
