LaTex => DVI => PS => PDF

Post by Chrissie »

hey,
I need to use the pstricks package and I want a pdf output. so I was told that I need to compile to DVI, then to PS and then to PDF. now my question is, is there a way to achieve that in TeXnixCenter? I would appreciate your help very much.
thank you all in advance. :)

The solution (with included build profile) to this was previously posted: http://latex-community.org/viewtopic.ph ... 302&hilit=

Thank you very much for your fast answer. I am sorry that I reposted this. it was a mistake as I had no idea that the other thread was about the exactly same thing. Thank you very much for linking me to the other thread and pointing this out to me. It's really appreciated. in the future I will look more carefully before posting. Also a huge thank you to the people who replied in the other thread, as it helped me save my problem.

I did try the other way before, but I made a mistake, so it didn't work at first. Now I figured out how to make it work. Thank you all for your help!

With MikTeX 2.4, Ghostscript 8.3 and GhostView 8.4, TeXnicCenter automatically created the profiles
LaTeX => DVI
LaTeX => PS
LaTeX => PDF and
LaTeX => DVI => PS => PDF

However with later versions of Ghostscript, only the first three
profiles are automatically created. The workaround has been
already provided in the forum. But why not the fourth
LaTeX => DVI => PS => PDF created automatically?

Just take a look at the thread linked by pumpkinegan. There you will find a working TeXnicCenter build profile for that case. Note that you have to adapt the paths to the required binaries. Another way is to call the wizard for building profiles again (Alt+F7). Be sure that you have Ghostscript (may be in combination with GSview) installed. Otherwise the build profile "LaTeX => PS => PDF" won't be generated.
