Using 1.0 RC on Vista 32 bit
I set the option to open the last session at startup, but nothing happens. I used Beta 7.50 and now 1.0 RC and it did not work.
I even uninstalled and reinstalled the 1.0 RC but it did not solve the problem.
Do I have to do anything else than setting the option in the option dialog?

Re: Opening last session at startup does not work for me
Is there any debug log or something like that, I can look at?

Re: Opening last session at startup does not work for me
Perhaps more a Vista related problem. I can't comprehend that behaviour on my Windows system² (in the rare cases I'm working with it). Probably the upcoming version 2.0 of TeXnicCenter won't cause this problem.

You can contribute to the project. Go the Contribute section of TeXnicCenter and report this behaviour to the issue tracker.Knuffi wrote:*Sigh* ... that's what I supsected

I already did, the response was "cannot be reproduced" and the bug was closed. Seems that I'm the only one having that issue.

If you have Vista, then the problem might be where you have located all your integrated programs (LateX, MikteX, and GS, etc...). These all need to be installed in a user profile section - not in the C:\ the program file section. This is a very complicated problem to FIND because of how Vista has set things up - nothing is transparent, obvious, or easy to fix or disable. If the problem is what I'm thinking, then the "updated files" will be in virtual store of Vista (if you can even find it). The Caveat is that they will not be updated per se (except for file name). The virtual store locates only a mirror of the file, but this causes enough problems to make your head spin.
Try this:
Move or copy (I copied first) the program files needed in the correct order to the user profile folder that you have currently named (you can find this by clicking on the windows icon - it is the first name on the right side just above documents - move or copy these program files: MikteX, GS, LateX, TeXnicCenter (last) to the download file section or wherever you want.
The next work around is to open the file in TeXnicCenter by following the NEW path - don't open it with recent files. Next would be to work with it a few times. It took my system 3 runs to "get it". This is a Vista Sux issue. Also, make sure your new output profile info and viewer info reflects the new pathway and that they are both reconciled using the NEW updated versions you've installed. I had to manually change things because TeXnicCenter and Vista do not play nice. Good Luck, I hope this is the issue - I empathize with the frustration...
