Conversion Tools ⇒ pdfs not compiling

I am using texstudio, I changed the filename of one of the figures I was importing, and when I compiled the document the preview was gone, saying it could not find the pdf. I had been looking at the pdf through the viewer just before compiling. But when I go to the file location the pdf is supposed to be written to, there is nothing there, in fact none of my past versions are there either, and when I try to recompile they are not getting written. anybody have any ideas what has happened?

I had this problem after installing Qt6. We are trying to resolve the issue.

I should have noted that it is a problem on both Linux (Mint) and Win 10. TexMaker looks to use Qt and somewhere I saw a post that TexMaker is based on qt, but can someone verify that?
