Mystic behaviour with german quotes

Post by MoonKid »

I use UTF-8 encoded tex-files. Because I use XeLaTeX I don't need special commands/macros to create quotes. I write them in the file as they are.
That is why I setup TeXnicCenter that way to use userdefinied quotes. You can see them in the video.
But the reaction of TC is confusing me. Please see the video. What happens here?

(Please be free to recommend me a better file-upload service.)
XeLaTeX from CTAN TeX-Live
with vim-latexsuite from an Ubuntu-based OS

Mystic behaviour with german quotes

The file has been deleted in the meantime on this external site.

Files of reasonable size can be attached to posts, here in the forum. Maybe it's not perfect though to use a video that requires megabytes to download if one or two screenshots would be sufficient.
