Latex Editor on RedHat 6

Post by bolomanonbolo »

Hello,
I am looking for a LaTeX editor on a RedHat6 machine. I just need an integrated Latex environment. I found many difficulties in installing rpm's for editors such as Texmaker and Texstudio, so I kindly ask for an editor "easy to install".
Thanks.
Claudio

Latex Editor on RedHat 6

Post by Stefan Kottwitz »

Hi Claudio,

welcome to the forum!

Which LaTeX did you install? LaTeX from the repositories of RedHat, or over the internet from tug.org? In the first case, I would try

yum install texworks

which works on some RedHat versions or clones such as Fedora.

Hi Stefan,
thanks for the reply.
I installed LaTex from the repositories I think. I am sure I didn't download anything from tug.org.
Unfortunately the package texwork is not available :/

I have compiled TeXworks on my own, from the sources. This was quite painless on RHEL/CentOS 6.
