TXNC changes page size

Post by Pepe93 »

Hi to all,

I am actually writing my PhD on texniccenter and it was doing fine during the last weeks. Today I really had some problems, mainly caused by a forgotten "]" in a figure-including function.
Several errors showed up, like all the acronyms could not be found anymore etc.

Well, I fixed that and everything seems to go fine. But I saw that TexnicCenter for some reason does not keep the page size (170x240) I defined before, but it directly creates A4 size :(
In doing so, also the letters increased.

I also tried to update the Miktex packages, and now, I am not able to create the PDF from the DVI any more.
If you need any exact error descriptions or additional information, just ask and I will provide anything necessary. By the way, is there a way to copy (text) from the Toggle Output bar???

Thanks in advance!
Pepe

hmm, there's no way to copy the log, I guess. This might be something for a feature request to the TeXnicCenter team.
However, please submit a more detailed error description (Error message etc).

ok, for the page size there is no error message, it just generates A4 pages instead of the desired 170x240, which was working fine before! Problems started this morning :(

Attached you find a screen shot for the error message when I try to generate the PDF.

A big THANKS.

It's probably better to start a new thread as opposed to trying to resurrect one from four years ago.

I don't use TXC, but if you're talking about the log, then there should be a file in the same folder as yours named filename.log which you can open in any text editor, including TXC itself, and paste here.

Thank you. Should I still do this or continue using this one now?

There is a logfile, yes, however it does not contain the complete output from the output bar. For instance, the last line in TXC is always:
'LaTeX-Results: x Errors (s), y Warning(s) , z Bad Box(es), xy Page(s)'
But this message can't be found in the log file.

I would only stay in this thread if your problem has to do with the topic title of this thread, about page sizes. But you haven't mentioned what problem you're having,

The log file may not tally up the warnings and errors for you, but it contains all you would need to generate those numbers, so that's probably fine.

Since Frojo's question has nothing to do with the title of this topic, the concerned posts will be split to another thread right after Frojo's next reply.
