Hi, I have several questions regarding lyx. My university requires a format for submission as follows:
left alignment (default: justified)
indentation (or "tab") at the beginning of each paragraph (default: none)
equation must start at 1.5 cm from inner margin (default: center)
pictures must be put in box/ borders (default: none)
table names are on top (default: bottom)
At the beginning of each chapter, the page number is displayed at the bottom. Then for the rest of the chapter, the page number is displayed on top, on the right hand side.
How to change the section heading from the regular numbering (for example: <section number> <caption>) into ("chapter " & <section number> <caption>). i.e. from "1 Introduction" to "Section 1, Introduction"
How to put the section in the middle !
Thanks and sorry for the extremely noob post. it's just not that obvious to me

Well, it is difficult to answer your post, because there is no context in it.
Manuals give extensive answers to many things, but even Wikipedia gives a nice introduction: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/LaTeX/Paragraph_Formatting.
However, I'm not a Lyx user, so I'm not familiar with commands in lyx.

Boersma
