New Members ⇒ Writing my Thesis using Latex

I m trying to figureout Latex to write my thesis.It involves jabref,Mitex aswell.These were told by a friend of mine.I have downloaded all the programs and installed.Can anyone assist me to figureout how these programs are linked.Also I want to findout how latex work.I cannot find a text editor from the set of programs.plz help

Feel free to open new topics for your questions.

For using with MikTeX I would recommend either TeXnicCenter, TeXmaker or WinEdt. Click on one of those names and you will find information and download.
