How to install ntheorem package under MikTeX

Post by relzzup »

Dear all,

I am working together with a colleague of mine and he is working under MikTex and WinEdt editor (MS Windows). We need to install ntheorem package.
I am not familiar with installation process in Windows (I work in Ubuntu, where the things seem much simpler), so I tried to install it by hand:

I found ntheorem.ins and followed the instructions from http://user.informatik.uni-goettingen.de/~may/Ntheorem/
During this process, LateX asked me to get some more files (frames.sty, pstricks.tex, pst-fp.tex) and I thought I completed the installation successfully.
However, when I start the file that uses this package, LaTeX tells me it still cannot find ntheorem.sty.

Could you tell me how to install it properly, or, if you think I did install it, how to tell MikTex about the new installed package?

Thank you very much in advance.
Marko

Hi Marco,

welcome to the board!

You need to tell MiKTeX about the installed package, even if you already copied it into the MiKTeX tree. Open MiKTeX Options (Settings), available in the Windows start menu, and click the button "Refresh FNDB".

Just install the ntheorem package by the MiKTeX Package Manager (MPM), perhaps with administrator rights. You will find it somewhere in the »Start« menu. But before cancel everything you have done so far.

Best regards and welcome to the board
