Jump to Placeholders in Fractions

Post by gondo »

Hi,

I'm using Kile in Ubuntu Maverick.

If I want to create a fraction I type \fra and use the auto-completion feature.
This results in the following:

Code: Select all

\frac{}{x}
The x in the second curly bracket is violet and underlined. As far as I get it right Kile is using it as a kind of placeholder. Nevertheless it is also an real letter as it can be compiled with LaTeX.

Now my question: Is there any (short-cut) possibility to jump to the x and replace it after having finished filling out the first bracket? By now I have to hit right-arrow three times (which isn't really ergonomic...) and delete the x manually.

Please excuse me if I'm asking something very stupid but I'm not very used to the world of kate/kile/kde.

Best regards
gondo

This violet x is called bullet, and there's an option in Kile under Edit->Bullets->Next Bullet/Last Bullet where you can jump to the next bullet. There you can also see which keyboard shortcuts are active for this. If you don't like the shortcuts you can of course also change them in the Configure Shortcuts dialogue.
