Problems getting Texniccenter to build

Post by TSchellhous »

Hello all,

I'm having an issue with Texniccenter running on my machine operating in Vista. When I try to build a file using pdf output with Adobe 8.0 as a reader (I've made sure it has the right path to open the reader), Reader opens but gives me the message "There was an error opening this document. The file cannot be found." I also get an error message from Texniccenter saying "[DocOpen("%bm.pdf")][FileOpen"%bm.pdf")]". I am getting very frustrated since I can't get any files to build, even files I've directly copied from my other machine which is running the same distribution of MikTek and Texniccenter.

When I try using DVI as the output with the Yap viewer from Miktek as the reader, I get an error report which I have copied and included at the end of this post.

Any suggestions?

Hello again,

I apologize for posting this in this forum, I jumped the gun and didn't see the Texniccenter forum. I will repost this in the correct location.
