What Office fonts are closest to LM or CM?

Post by venable »

Hi all,

For complicated reasons I need to integrate PDF output from Office documents (at the moment, Excel files but possibly Word files in the future) into my LaTeX documents. Luckily, the pdfpages package makes this very easy.

I would like to have the font from Office be as close as possible to Latin Modern (my preferred LaTeX font) or Computer Modern. Are there any suggestions on standard or non-standard fonts that can be used in Office and match up well with these?

Many thanks in advance.

Why not use Latin Modern itself? You can download OpenType versions of Latin Modern here. (Grab the non-TeXie package.)

If you're using some ancient version of Office that doesn't support OpenType, you can get True Type versions of Computer Modern here.
