Hi Phi. Thanks for the calming words.

I just installed the latest Linux headers and restarted the system but the texmf folder I created in /usr/local/share/ seems to be there still. I am also able to use biblatex. You mentioned user additions to that location disappearing after the next update. What kind of an update did you mean? When will the folder disappear?

I suppose for now I'll use the biblatex as I've got it, but once the folder is gone I will try to copy it into my home folder. No harm there, right?

/usr/local/share is ok. Things in /usr/share usually get overwritten.
