Hello,
There is a problem with opening pdf directly. Can anyone help me solve it? Thanks in advance!
I bought this laptop in March (Windows 10), and I installed latest TeXnicCenter with MikTeX distribution. I also installed Adobe Acrobat Reader DC to open pdf files. It worked very well before. About a week ago, I found that if I chose "LaTeX -> PDF" and "Build and View (Ctrl+Shift+F5)", then the Adobe DC would pop out, but will not show the generated pdf, and TeXnicCenter would show "not responding". There is no compiling error or warning. If I wait long enough, then there will come a dialogue box "[DocOpen("%bm.pdf")][FileOpen("%bm.pdf")]".
I tried the online method, changing "AcroViewR10" and "AcroViewR15", but neither worked. Can anyone help me? Thanks!

Cannot open pdf directly
Try
However, i would use a more slim pdf viewer like SumatraPdf.
AcroViewR17
or whatever the current version on you system is. However, i would use a more slim pdf viewer like SumatraPdf.
The smart way: Calm down and take a deep breath, read posts and provided links attentively, try to understand and ask if necessary.

Cannot open pdf directly
By the way, I saw somebody using the TeXworks previewer for the PDF output with TeXnicCenter, automatically updating:

Thanks! I also found that when I tried to search online for a solution. Now I switched to Sumatra.Johannes_B wrote:TryAcroViewR17

It is interesting that I used AcroViewR15 before for Adobe DC, but when I checked it in regedit I found that it was AcroViewR10. (Neither worked though.)
