Hi
I tried installing miktex for over a month and I keep getting this error message because of a failed file verification missing pgfplots.

MiKTeX setup error, required file failed verification
Hi,
perhaps post the exact error message here.
By the way, you could install TeX Live instead. That's developed, maintained and supported by the international TeX Users Group, and it runs on Windows. I also use it on Linux and Mac OS X (MacTeX, that is a customized version of TeX Live).

It seems that file is damaged. Try another MiKTeX mirror site for installing over the Internet.
If you use the MikTeX package manager GUI, click "Repository", "Change repository", click "Next" and choose one.

Re: Problem installing miktex
I'm using TeX Live since many years and it's working great. I started with MiKTeX too, a long time ago. That was, when MiKTeX had a package manager, and TeX Live did not have one yet. It changed 2008. Now I run TeX Live on Linux, my Macbook, and Windows, using TeXworks as editor everywhere.

The rest of my computers are on Miktex. Wonder if I should change it to Tex live
or stay with Miktex
