I'm not sure I really see the LaTeX link here: can you give a bit more detail?

This very much looks like spam to me and I'm inclined to delete the thread…

Why? That's spam. You never posted anything here and now you try to get people and back links to your page. I guess you googled for places such as forums where to post it, so you arrived here. Wasted time.
You posted the same "advice" here: http://www.artofproblemsolving.com/comm ... hrough_edx
You did not mention LaTeX there. Though there's a LaTeX forum. The people there can also explain how LaTeX is written with correct letters.
This topic will be deleted soon, though I wasted time too.

online courses help in practicing Latex
I first used LaTeX in 1992 for typing my Masters Thesis at S.G.S.I.T.S., Indore, M.P., India. There was no Microsoft Word at that time. I learned on my own. I got a copy of LaTeX from IIT Bombay through my project guide. However, I did not use LaTeX for my Ph.D. thesis in 2003. Now, in 2016, I again find LaTeX to be of immense use.
Re: online courses help in practicing Latex
Are there any users in this forum who have used LaTeX wayback in 1992? I really enjoyed typing my M.E. Thesis in LaTeX then i.e. in 1992. It had very limited features; but all my typing work, including typing matrices, integration formulas etc. could be done easily. Thanks LaTeX developers for all continued efforts in further developing it!

Re: online courses help in practicing Latex
The LaTeX kernel was updated quite a bit with the change from LaTeX2.09 to LaTeX2e in 1993/1994, since then only a few changes have been made. Most of the recent stuff was fixing some bugs and adding compatibility for modern unicode-aware engines like XeTeX and LuaTeX.
If you have been using LaTeX in 1992, you will have to make a few changes, between LaTeX is compatibility mode isn't that nice.
Over the years, many many packages have evolved that make doing stuff easier, but honestly, if you know enough of the basics, you can do it yourself.

The smart way: Calm down and take a deep breath, read posts and provided links attentively, try to understand and ask if necessary.
