I am a user of win7 64-bit have tried to install miktex2.9 by miktex 2.9 net - installer and download basic miktex-distribution first and then install; even though the link to distribution was like ftp://ctan.math.ca/tex-archive/systems/ ... m/packages - to win32 (?), and couldn't find any with win64 from different country, the files on my computer are like for example miktex-bin-x64-2.9.tar.lzma so i think it's compatible with win64 and that's not the problem; then having everything on C:\Users\Admin\Desktop\MiKTeX Download Files trying to start setup with setup-2.9.5870-x64 it shows always the operation couldn't be completed for the following reason: permission denied: ( and every trial different error ), for example: C:\Users\Admin\Appdata\local\temp\mik19078\arrayjob.tpm. Can't find the files which occur in this message.I tried to do sth with firewall and antivirus program, and i'm the only user in my comp ( admin ). Yeasterday i formatted C.Thankful for any help

Welcome, i honestly cannot help you with MikTeX stuff. I use TeX Live, the one big competitor to MikTeX. Of course, both are free.

We never heard any feedback from the user.
Maybe just checkout TeX Live as linked above. Many LaTeX helpers use it.

Welcome to the forum!
I use TeX Live too, and it's working great! I use it on the Mac, on Linux and on Windows without problems. The installation over Internet takes a while, sometimes I had to restart installation (it continues checking existing files and downloads the remaining packages). I recommend to do a full install in either case, that saves headaches later.
