Is there a version for FreeBSD?

Post by SFSecurity »

I'm trying to move away from the Windoze environment to one of the BSD versions. Any help doing so is most welcome.

Best,

Allen

a version of what, exactly? A TeX distribution? Why, yes, have a look at TeXLive.
Last time I checked, TL supported FreeBSD for AMD and Intel architectures.

Hi Allen,

sure, TeX Live also runs on FreeBSD.

Besides compiling it yourself, there are ready-made binary versions for various BSD versions and processors:
  • amd64-freebsd x86_64 with FreeBSD
  • amd64-kfreebsd(*) x86_64 with GNU/FreeBSD
  • amd64-netbsd x86_64 with NetBSD
  • i386-freebsd Intel x86 with FreeBSD
  • i386-kfreebsd(*) Intel x86 with GNU/FreeBSD
  • i386-netbsd Intel x86 with NetBSD
