Theses, Books, Title pages ⇒ LaTeX Error: Two \documentclass or \documentstyle commands.

Hi everybody,

I installed TeXShop on my Mac about six months ago and have used it almost every day since then without a problem.

When I tried to download The Legrand Orange Book, though, I consistently encountered the following error message:

./structure.tex:1: LaTeX Error: Two \documentclass or \document style commands.

When I tried reconstructing the document without the structure.tex file, I was able to make it work without any errors so that seems to be the issue somehow.

I would greatly appreciate any advice on this!

Hey,

Have you made any modifications to the template after you downloaded it? That error should only arise if you have two time \begin{document} or two\documentclass{book}.

You most likely named you main file book.tex, now instead of loading the documentclass book, the document loads itself again.
