standard font for CJK and polytonic Greek

Post by wegelin »

This spins off
http://latex-community.org/forum/viewto ... 068#p87068, where Johannes_B patiently helped to create a working example that compiles and displays polytonic Greek.

Is there a standard font that will display English, Western European languages, polytonic Greek, and CJK in the same document?

The following compiles (in xelatex) and the English and Greek are visible but the Chinese is empty boxes.

Code: Select all

\documentclass[12pt]{article}
\usepackage{fontspec}
\setmainfont{Times New Roman}
\begin{document}
Agamemnon first line:
θεοὺς μὲν αἰτῶ τῶνδ᾽ ἀπαλλαγὴν πόνων

Chinese: Are you guys (all) okay?
你们都还好吗?
\end{document}

This is a really really good question. :-)
The smart way: Calm down and take a deep breath, read posts and provided links attentively, try to understand and ask if necessary.
