Errors appear when switch to higher version

Post by ffhh »

Hi, I just installed TexnicCenter 2.02(64bit) and I am using the version of 1.0 as well in another computer. I found the same latex file and bib file can successfully generate output in the version of 1.0, but have a series of errors in the version of 2.02. Why? Some errors are as follows:

Pdflatex>!Missing \right. inserted.

BibTex>while executing---line 1642 of file ormsv080.bst
BibTex>Name 1 in "E. Miller, and X. Huang, and R. Faturechi" has a comma at the end for entry Brooks_2011

There are a bunch of similar errors for different reference bib items.
How to generically clear those errors? Is there something new in the higher version that I should be aware of? Thanks.

Errors appear when switch to higher version

Those errors are LaTeX error messages. The editor version doesn't matter. Perhaps your older version was configured to suppress error messages and to continue compiling anyway. But this has the disadvantage that you may not see errors which can seriously affect the appearance of your document.

This LaTeX error means, that you opened an expression with \left and delimiter, but you did not have a closing \right delimiter (parenthesis, curly brace, square bracket, ...) Have a look at the line number of that error message and check the math formulas there. Perhaps post them here.

There's an error in your .bib entry or in the style file. You could post your bib entry here.

I recommend to fix the errors. Not to clear or to suppress. Tell us more details, specifically the problematic code, and we will try to help fixing it.
