Miktex 2.9 changed my editor choice

Post by pearson112 »

I use WinEdt to edit latex documents. I recently updated to Miktex 2.9 and now when there is a compilation error, TexWorks opens up instead of WinEdt. I am unable to find the settings that control this. Can somebody point me to the relevant ini file or setting?

Thank you for any help.

Miktex 2.9 changed my editor choice

This is OS-dependant and has nothing to do with latex.

How to change or select which program starts when you ...
The smart way: Calm down and take a deep breath, read posts and provided links attentively, try to understand and ask if necessary.

Thank you for responding, but this isn't a file association issue, since .tex files are still associated with WinEdt. This is only an issue when there is a compilation latex error and an editor opens.

I posted in the Miktex section since Texworks was installed with miktex 2.9. If this is a WinEdt issue, I can re-post there.

Thank you.
