General ⇒ dvi error

I'm using TeXnicCenter under Windows with MiKTeX.

For any .tex document I build into a .dvi, when I try to display it under Yap, I get the following error:

MiKTeX problem report:
DDE connection could not be established.
(Data: 16394)

I have been using TeXnicCenter for some time and was able to display .dvi files in Yap with no problem. Only today has this begun, and it occurs with any .tex document I try.

Note: when I use Texmaker, this error does not occur....

welcome to the board!
Does this really occur with any tex document? Even if you don't include graphics? Because I guess it may be a problem with included eps files, with ghostscript.
We had this error message already discussed some time ago: here.

Yes, it seems to occur with any document. Further, when I build the .dvi in TeXnicCenter, I can open the .dvi file normally with Yap; I only get the error when I try to open it directly from TeXnicCenter (using F5).

Check your output profile, the dvi viewer configured, it could look like this (source).
