compiling a tex file to pdf

Post by slo_down »

hello,

i'm using texniccenter now for 3 years and everything worked perfect.

With the new version of texniccenter (maybe its a problem with miktex, i don't know) i cant compile anymore a tex to pdf.

When i try to compile i got an error with PDFLATEX. Therefore i got the message "log file not found".

Btw i have installed the newest miktex 2.9 complete and using pdf x-changer viewer.

Somebody here who has or has got the the same problem? Any suggestens? Would be great.

Thanks

I think we need more details. I have never seen such an error. Can you post the log file? A minimal example?

To find out, if it's a problem of MiKTeX or of TeXnicCenter, you could compile at the command prompt via

pdflatex filename

If it works, it's a TeXnicCenter issue, if it doesn't work too it's a MiKTeX issue.

Hello,

I experience exactly the same issue, when I try to compile a file via "pdflatex test.tex" everything just works fine.

Texniccenter refuses to do anything, it doesn't even generate a log file or something like that. I really don't know what to do anymore, Texmaker for example works fine...

Hi Boaschtel,

welcome to the board!

It could be a known MiKTeX issue, have a look at this topic: No output after recovering from system rebuild.

Glad to be here ;) This page could become handy when it comes to working with Latex!

I already set the install packages on the fly to yes during install, setting remained unchanged, I just checked.
