Hebrew Font (TrueType) not displayed correctly

Post by mzoro »

Hello,

I am new in XeTeX, and I am trying to use the true type font - Unicode features of XeTeX to display some fragment of the bible in Hebrew. I don't use LaTeX but XeTeX directly, with my own format I'm used for years. I have loaded a true type font (Shlomo) using the \font command. More or less, the font is correctly displayed as far as I don't use Hebrew Nikud (parallel to accents in Latin fonts) nor diacritic signs. But the Nikud does not position at the correct place; it seems like XeTeX doesn't take into account ligatures of the TTF font (I don't know if the term "ligature" is suitable for TTF, but I am trying to explain the problem). Is it a well known problem that has a known solution ?

thx.
Mike
