I found a WYSIWIG TeX editor - which for LaTeX noobs like myself - is like the holy grail of LaTeX. It's called BaKomaTeX

Catch is, they want $55 for it, so my question is, it worth the money? does anyone know if it is any good?

BaKomaTeX
For this money amount you can buy »The LaTeX Companion« and so get an excellent book to learn LaTeX.Epideme90 wrote:[…] Catch is, they want $55 for it, so my question is, it worth the money? […]

BaKomaTeX
By the way, regarding support in case of problems when working with BaKomaTeX or any commercial WYSIWYG editor -
- It's hard to explain problems when using a GUI (where did you click?) and hard to explain a solution (open this menu, that dialog, click bottom left, ...). In contrast, with LaTeX you show the problematic code and get the fixed or improved code in return.
- Nobody of us can support BaKomaTeX without bying it, for testing problems. Even if there's an evaluation period, I don't install a commercial bundle just for a quick test which I have to remove later.

I see your point - I suppose if it was good i wouldn't need help though. heheh, ghost, WYSIWIG is a lot faster to learn than via textbook though - time may be of the essence *looks at clock - 44 Hours till hand-in*

BaKomaTeX
Yes, please tell!
After losing many days just trying to install properly some LaTeX compilers and front-ends, I wonder if paying is a better solution...
And I'm in nearly the same situation: no experience with LaTeX code, hoping to save learning effort and time - after all, I'm happy with Namo for html, a very similar situation.
