Font size for TexShop documents

Post by elig »

When opening a new document in TexShop I always get back to Helvetica 12 fonts.
Changing the fonts to say, Arial 24 (Source > Font > Show Fonts) will work on the current document but I can not make it the default font. Is there such a possibility?

elig,

Glad to see that you found your answer.

Just FYI...you can also change your font in the preamble of your tex document with the \usepackage{} command. I didn't change my default (but that info is good to know). I did, however, add this line into my preamble....

\usepackage{palatino,lettrine}

....to change my font. The lettrine option allowed me to do some extra formatting at the beginning of each chapter that makes it appear as if I've done a lot of work when I really haven't. But again this is just my example. You might not want to use it based on the type of document you are building.

This is a little off the subject but hopefully i didn't bore you too much.
