PDF links in italic ?

Is it possible to write some PDF links in italic ? More specifically, I'm using the \texorpdfstring command in chapter/section titles so write proper PDF links in the PDF document. However, all such links don't have an italic style, which is highly deirable for maths expressions. In particular, I would like to use c and J. Any idea ?
