General ⇒ "The system cannot find the path specified " problem

Hello!

I just installed MiXTeX 2.7 (removing an extremely old 2.4). The Editor, TeXnicCenter 1 Beta 7.0, doesn't work any more, just the following comment appear:

C:\programmi\MiKTeX\texmf\bin\pdflatex.exe Cannot execute the command. Error: The system cannot find the path specified

What should I do?

welcome to the LaTeX Community board!
The path of the new MiKTeX installation may be different now, such as C:\programmi\MiKTeX 2.7\texmf\miktex\bin\pdflatex.exe or similar. Go to the TeXnicCenter Menu Build/ Define Output Profiles and change the path there (or use the Wizard button of this window).

Perhaps have a look here: TeXnicCenter configuration video This is a video about configuring TeXnicCenter with MiKTeX on youtube. Using an older version of MiKTeX, but it shows the way.

The standard installation path of MiKTeX has changed since Version 2.4 (for unknown reasons).

Code: Select all

C:\Programmi\MiKTeX\miktex\bin\pdflatex.exe

All other required executables of MiKTeX can also be found in this path.
