It would be fantastic if TexNicCenter included a toolbar for the siunitx package.

It would also be useful if a siunitx toolbar could be customizable to include units defined using the \DeclareSIUnit, and commonly used combinations of units.

A toolbar for a special package makes no sense. What if others want toolbars for other packages? LaTeX has much more than thousand packages. Should there be a toolbar for every single one of them?

I see your point. However I disagree that it makes no sense. A significant number of authors, across a multitude of disciplines have a need to insert quantities and units into their text. I do recognise that there are a number of packages that can be used to do this, and therefore understand that it is not necessarily practical to create a toolbar for a specific package.

Perhaps a compromise would be to give users the freedom to program a toolbar for their own use?

And I am one of them. But from my point of view typing by hand is much faster than choosing command from any menus. With TeXworks I prefer to use a much more minimalistic editor that doesn't break my work flow by continuous mouse movement.

You can try to supplement the files for auto-completion in TeXnicCenter (TXC). I seem to remember that they are located in its installation path. Their format is XML. Try your luck. This way you would at least have some support while typing a command related to the siunitx package. As far as I know there is no plan for such an interface.
