Is there a correct order of loading tgpagella and mathpazo?

Post by Montag »

Hello,

since Zapf's Euler (via \usepackage{eulervm}) needs a lot of space, I thought of using \usepackage{mathpazo}. Should I load it before or after tgpagella?
Does it even matter?

You would need to load mathpazo before tgpagella if you want TeX Gyre Pagella body text. However, the URW Palladio fonts that mathpazo provides for body text and the TeX Gyre Pagella fonts are almost identical (the latter is a slight modification of the former, both based on Palatino). Are you sure there's any reason to load tgpagella at all if you're using mathpazo?

No, I'm not sure. So far, I've only the TeX Gyre's Pagella because it seemed so easy and although I don't remember why exactly, I thought they were from a more professional background.
I've never used mathpazo, just was used to load the Pagella-font.

Thanks.
