Installing TeXnicCenter

Post by feanor22 »

Dear Members,

I formatted my PC and installed the MiKTeX, Ghostscript, Ghostview and finally the TeXnicCenter in this order.
I also directed correctly the folder miktex/bin to the executable files.
Even then I couldn't compile my files. It opened the old versions instead of the ones with my changes. When I delete the old files he can't find the DVI.

I tried initially MiKTeX 2.9 and TeXnicCenter most recent. Besides not working, the option "LaTeX -> PS -> PDF" is not included.

Then I tried my old setup files of MiKTeX 2.5 and the old TeXnicCenter I used to use. Still nothing.

What am I missing?

Thanks!

If it helps I use a 64bit home premium vista but tried both 32 and 64 versions of ghostscript and ghostview.

Well after trying the version 2.9, 2.8 and 2.5 I tried the 2.7. It worked!!!
Did the same thing in all of them. Weird. Anyone knows why?

Now that the problem is solved, please mark the topic accordingly as described in Section 3 of the Board Rules. You are not new to the forum and by now you should know that.

Best regards

Dear Thorsten

I was going to mark as solved today ( I am sorry for not having done so before) but I couldn't find the button "edit" that I usually find in my posts.

Dear Thorsten

I am sorry. But only yesterday I went to post a question and noticed that.
Now I am giving another try for Miktex 2.9 instead of my palliative solution of using 2.7 and except from beamer files all is working well.
Do you know what could be happening?

Regards
