Howto update Glossary

Post by kaktux »

hi there,

i am using a template from openwetware
It is already a project - and i already was able to get rid of some errors. But i am still a latex newbie - and now got a problem:

The template works without errors - but i don´t know how to refresh the glossary (tex file is placed in folder 0_frontmatter).

There is already a solution on the talk page of that template:
http://openwetware.org/wiki/Talk:LaTeX_ ... PhD_thesis

but i can´t figure out how to do that with kile. I tried to create a new Build - but - i can´t figure out what the right commands to fill in are.
I am using Kubuntu with Kile (and jabref).

any help would be great.

i found a dirty solution:
got to ->configure Kile -> tools -> build
Click New -> Give it a name (e.g. MakeGlossary) -> choose Makeindex as default behaviour -> Finish
In General Tab:
Command: makeindex
Options: xyz.nlo -s
/usr/share/texmf-texlive/makeindex/nomencl/nomencl.ist -o xyz.nls

xyz is the name of your tex-file, maybe the path to nomencl.ist has to be altered.

In Tab Men, you can add the Build to you Menu of choice (i took compile)

maybe someone nows how to make this general - and not only for the current file worked on.

The template is far from being recommendable [1]. Follow the suggestions in the other forum.
