Hi,
where can I find step by step (but not to many steps) introduction to write cover page for PhD thesis in LaTeX? There is much information about this but more of them I found with lack of clear description of particular commands which not allows for flexible usage.

Ok. The problem is already not valid. It seems that one can simply substitute \maketitle by simple commands like \vspace, \center{} and sort of fotns names one wishes.

The style file provided by my university makes a pretty nice title page. You would need to edit the style file to change the university name, as that is hard-coded in, but I would think it should be fairly easy to find.
