A few teething problems

Post by newlou »

Hi there,

I'm using TeXnic Center on XP for the first time. I'm having a few problems at the moment:

1) Sometimes when I go back to my work after leaving it overnight for example, I've lost the last paragraph/page of work I've done. I'm definitely saving it and even back it up onto a USB. Still things manage to go missing though. I've ended up having to copy the text into a word document, so that when it happens I don't have to type out all my equations etc again!

2) I seem to have lost the ability to copy and paste. I use it a lot of I'm typing out lots of similar equations. It was working the other day....

Grateful for any help - are these usual LaTex problems?

Thanks in advance

Lisa

No. The kind of problem you mention can not be a LaTeX problem (your problem has to do with LaTeX non-depending issues); it coluld be a problem with the configuration of your editor, although I've worked for several years now with LaTeX and various editors (TeXnicCenter, TeXmaker and Kile) and never experienced such problems.

TeXnicCenter is not the only IDE for LaTeX. You may try Winshell. It's also freeware and maintained regularly.
