how exactly does viewbib work? when i run it, i get an error "[ViewBib] Could not determine the master file for this document." i have tried changing the settings from default to jabref to kbibtex, but that doesn't solve the issue. i'm sure that my main .tex file is set as master document.

Perhaps a short guide on the Homepage of KBibTeX will offer the needed help [1]. If not, contacting the author may yield the desired results.

thanks for the link. i'm using kile 2.0, and the guide says it should be enabled by default... i still can't get it working, though.

I'm similarly trying to get ViewBib working, and I keep getting the message

[ViewBib] Could not determine the master file for this document.

whenever I try to open a bibliography file. KBibTeX works fine for me
as a standalone program, and I've also made the LaTeX document
that I'm working on the master file, so there shouldn't
be any problem there. And I've done all of the configuration steps
that I should need to. But it still doesn't work.

I had the same problem and solved it as follows.

Changed the encoding in Jabref from File->database properties into UTF8 and changed the Kile configure settings, so as viewbib works with jabref.
