MikTeX and TexnicCenter in Windows Vista

Post by nrqed »

New poster here. Sorry for the simple question. I just bought a Dell laptop which has Windows Vista. I want to make sure that MikTeX and TeXnicCenter can be installed without any problem since the main reason I bought a laptop was to be able to write up research papers wherever I would go. I did not think that there could be compatibility issues with Vista but now I am starting to worry. On teXnicCenter.org it seems to say that TeXnicCenter is not compatible with Vista (at least Vista is not listed on the main page). I did a google search and it seemed as if some people had installed it on Vista.

This is important to me because if I can't use TexnicCenter on my laptop I will return it and get an XP compatible one.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, running miktex 2.7 with TC7.01beta on Vista, and it seems to work for me.

Thanks a lot Akvik for taking the time to reply!
I am glad to know that it's possible. I must have had the wrong version.
