TeXnicCenter 2.0 Alpha 2 (Build 1071) Issues

It does work.
Okay, my mistake. I should ask then, *how* does it work? When I open multiple tabs and/or multiple instances and select any of these menu options, nothing happens. I can, however, grab a tab and move it to the other half or bottom of the screen. I thought that "Tile Windows" would do this with all the opened tabs/windows. Could it be a conflict with another program?

Tile/Arrange/Cascade Windows work only if document tabs are disabled.

Sorry for offtopic.
Dear developers, can you compile "official" alpha builts little bit frequently?
Some bugs are fixed already and work without it will be good I think.
Thanks.

Please also have a look at WER data which should be obtainable through Microsoft.
TXC crashed for the second time while compiling. WER-reports have been created.

I've got a little problem with building projects when there is some big calculation going in the background (that uses all the processor time).
Even when the priority of the calculation process is set to "Idle(4)" the Build process is TexnicCenter is very slow.
(Looks like corresponding TexnicCenter thread has even lower priority...)

(Or maybe the problem is with launching Acrobat Reader from TxC after Build process is finished?)

I also think that compilation is quite slow.

But I want to focus on the crashes. They happen quite often to me. In the last 24 hours I had 4 crashes. They seem to be triggered by a certain sequence of editing commands issued by typing. I cannot say exactly which one. But often it seems to be related to first typing something and then using CTRL, SHIFT and the left arrow key to change something in the text I've written.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE FIX THIS BUG ASAP!

Here is more feedback from my daily TXC 2a2 use:

- TXC occasionally crashes during compilation.
- During compilation, the TXC process ("TeXnicCenter.exe") creates 20-48% CPU. Since this is on dual core, this means that TXC almost saturates one core! It's closer to 20% if the application window is minimized and it's higher otherwise.

TeXnicCenter 2.0 Alpha 2 (Build 1071) Issues

Post by _stefanos_ »

Good evening everyone and kudos for such a great project.

I have detected a bug with hot keys. It's something that has to do with event handlers. I press alt-f, then go to recent projects, select my latest one and press enter; nothing happens. If though I find a working menu, like tools -> customize, then "recent projects" start working properly. If I close TeXnicCenter and reopen it, the initial issue remains the same.

I am under Windows XP Pro SP3.
