Looking for a compact Homework layout

Post by awegawef »

I have been typing up my homework in LaTex for the past few years, and I have never been able to find or create a homework sty or class that works for my needs. The issues I have are as follows:
1. Styles waste space. Having "Problem 1 Question" and "Problem 1 Answer" as sections wastes a lot of space, especially when the problem statement is only 2 sentences long.
2.It is difficult to format answers to that problems with many parts are answered part-by-part. That is, it isn't hard to typeset a problem that has multiple parts, but it is hard to typeset the solution embedded in the problem.

I'm sure I can eventually work something out, I was just wondering if anyone had a HW.sty that they thought was amazing or something.

Hello there,

I have used the attached style file. I thought it was nice and efficient. Take a look at it and I hope it fits your needs. I have also attached a sample with it.

Cheers,

A style I used for years was exerquiz.sty. You can download this file at ctan or acrotex.net.
