I just bought a new laptop, and pdflatex gives problems I have never experienced before.
It refuses to incorporate a pdf illustration that is v1.6, complaining that it cannot handle anything above pdf-version 1.4. The result is that the part of the pdf illustration that originally an .eps-graphic is printed, but the other parts are omitted.
What to do? Do I have an old version of pdflatex, or is something else going wrong?
thanks in advance,
Niels

Downgrade the illustration to PDF 1.4 and try again.

good idea, but how? I don't own acrobat. Are there reliable freeware alternatives out there?

Or upgrade your document to 1.6:
Code: Select all
\pdfminorversion=6

tried that, phi. Doesn't work. I really don't understand what's going on, since it works fine on my desktop in the office.
