DVI => PDF

Post by S_David »

Hello,

I installed MikTek 2.7 and TeXnicCenter as an editor. The wizard at the first time you open the editor leads you to create 3 profiles: DVI, PDF and PS.

When there is no .eps figures in the document, there is no problem, but when they included, the PDF profile generates errors.

In WinEdt, for example, I overcome this problem by the DVI2PDF button in the toolbar. But such an option is not available by default in TeXnicCenter, so I guess I have to create this profile manually. The question is: How?

Thanks in advance

The current version of TeXnicCenter (TXC 1.0 RC1) should generate a profile called "LaTeX => PS => PDF" at first start. You can do this subsequently by pressing Alt+F7 and starting the wizard.

When I run TeXnicCenter on my machine, the PS=>PDF profile was not created in the wizard, but when I installed the same editor on a different machine this profile was created. Why? Is there a specific program that I must have to generate this profile?

Oh, yes. I forgot to mention that you need to have Ghostscript (current version) installed. At the same address you can obtain GSView for viewing PS files.

Great, now it is working fine. Thank you. But I noticed that all references and equation numbers are hyperlinked, how can I eliminate that?

Just don't use the hyperref package.
