TeXmaker Releases

Post by math.observer »

TeXmaker 1.8 has been released : http://www.xm1math.net/texmaker/

Change log :
  • A new instance of texmaker will no more be opened while using "inverse search" (the program can only be started once per user).
  • The spell checker is based on a more recent hunspell version and should be faster.
  • Texmaker should again detect all LaTeX errors in the log file and brace matching in the editor has been added.
  • "\end{...}" is now added automatically after "\begin{...}" while using auto-completion.

Post by math.observer »

The critical bug about the in-line spell checker has been fixed in Version 1.9.1 of TeXmaker. The new packages are available (Windows, Mac OSX, Linux 32/64 bits).

Xelatex is not working on the new osx version. Xelatex always stops without any error message. latexmk is not working either. It seems related to path environment.

Another bug on osx version is that when we double click a tex file which is associated with texmaker, texmaker is terminated unexpectedly.

TeXmaker Releases

Version 2.0 of the authentic TeXmaker :
  • A built-in PDF viewer has been added : the PDF preview is automatically refreshed after a compilation. (remark : SyncTeX is not used)
  • User can now directly create a new document by copying an existing one.
  • A new option to the quick build command has been added : with this option, TeXmaker doesn't launch a new instance of the DVI/PS/PDF viewer if the file is already opened.
  • A new wizard to set the "user quick build command" has been added.
Packages for Windows, Mac OS X (Intel 32 & 64 bit) and Linux (32 & 64 bit) are available :

The version 2.1 of the authentic Texmaker has been released. SyncTex support has been added to the built-in pdf viewer.

If you add the "-synctex=1" option to the pdflatex command, the built-in pdf viewer will jump directly to the position in the PDF file that corresponds to the current line in the (La)TeX source file.
Reciprocally, with a right-clic on a word in the built-in pdf viewer (context menu), the editor will jump to the corresponding line in the source file.

As usual, this version is available for the windows, macosx and linux platforms :

Thanks a lot.

Remarks:

1. Switching from the editor to the viewer is done when compiling only, right? No Ctrl+click or similar shortcuts for switching without compiling? So, one puts the cursor in a line in the editor, compile the document, press "View PDF" and gets switched to the viewer. Now, that works fine on a single document. But, in case of Master-Child relation this doesn't work (i.e. it works for lines in Master document, but not in Child document).

2. Switching between windows isn't smooth on my machine (Debian Squeeze, 64bit). When I click "View PDF", the viewer pops up, but in the panel the editor window still has the focus. However, this part isn't much of an issue.
But, when I do Right click > Click to jump to the line in the viewer, the editor window gets the focus only in the panel, but the window stays behind the viewer. From there it takes two clicks to get to the editor: one for "unfocusing" the editor window (it still remains behind the viewer), and another for bringing it into the view.

Here's my pdflatex line:

Code: Select all

/home/mehor/TeXLive/bin/x86_64-linux/pdflatex -synctex=1 -interaction=nonstopmode %.tex
Note: I tried turning off Compiz Fusion to see if it interferes with windows switching, seems it does not.

TeXmaker Releases

A new version of TeXmaker (the authentic) has been released :
  • The built-in pdf viewer has been improved : pdf pages are now displayed continuously and can be printed directly from Texmaker (ghostscript is required on windows).
  • A "jump to pdf" command has been added to the contextual menu of the editor (synctex is required - the corresponding lines in the pdf viewer are highlighted).
  • Users can now easily navigate between the opened files with a new document selector located at the bottom of the main window.
  • According to the new behaviour of the asymptote program, Texmaker now compiles automatically all the "mydocument*.asy" files.
  • Verbatim, sweave, pspicture, tikzpicture ans asy environments are now recognized by the syntax highlighter. (math mode is deactivated between sweave tags)
  • Users can now reload a document modified externally with the "Reload document from file" command in the "File" menu (all changes not saved with texmaker will be lost)
  • At the first use on windows, Texmaker now tries to autodetect the path to yap, acroread and ghostscript.
As usual, Texmaker is available for windows, macosx and linux systems :
