How would I do this using LaTeX?

Post by theo moore »

My CV is typewritten in Microsoft Word, but I'd like to transition it to LaTeX. This is for two reasons: (1) The text is rendered more beautifully in LaTeX, and (2) I'm getting tired of always having to make small changes to the original file when I need to add in a publication or whatever. Having to edit the tex file would be a lot easier.

I've attached an image of my current CV below.

Unfortunately, I'm at a loss of how I would be able to duplicate the template in LaTeX. It involves shifting between 1, 2, and 3 columns of varying width. It's not something that's hard to do in Word, but my knowledge of customizing tex documents is pretty minimal.

Can someone help me get started?

The TeX Catalogue lists some entries of classes and packages for this purpose [1]. Possibly you will find something useful.
