General ⇒ Cannot create output file

Recently, I started using TexnicCenter again and many problems surfaced. I've been debugging it for weeks and would greatly appreciate help in solving it.

The old LaTeX programs can generate output file but not the new ones.
When I build the file, the output profile gives the following:
initexmf:pdflatex.ini: source file does not exist
I cannot find the default format file!
cannot make pdflatex.efmt

When I view output, the Adobe Reader 7 says: 'There was an error in opening this document. This file cannot be found' and TexnicCenter pops up '[DocOpen("%bm.pdf")][FileOpen"%bm.pdf")]. Cannot execute the command'.

Also, the graphics in eps format cannot be inserted.

Can you compile a simple document? As DVI and PDF?

If TeX cannot create the output document, Acrobat can consequently not open it

Sorry for the miscommunication. Let me paraphrase.

I'm creating new LaTeX files. When I build the file to PDF, the output profile that shows number of errors and warnings give the following:
initexmf:pdflatex.ini: source file does not exist
I cannot find the default format file!
cannot make pdflatex.efmt

The output LaTeX document cannot be created.
